FEATURE STORY
Doo-Dah Diner owners sell restaurant to local business owners

It’ll soon be the end of the Shibley era at Doo-Dah Diner.
After 13 years, owners Patrick and Timirie Shibley are selling their restaurant.
With Patrick battling prostate cancer, it was time for the Shibleys to sell, but at least they found someone local with experience in the industry.
They have sold the restaurant to Jeff and Jay Miller who own the Five Guys franchises in Wichita.
The Shibley’s last day at the restaurant will be Father’s Day, June 15 where there will be a Father’s Day buffet.

COMMUNITY
Kids Eat Free When They Read

The Popcorner has their own summer reading program that has returned. It’s one of their favorite ways to give back to the community!
Introducing The Popcorner Summer Book Club. This came out of the pandemic year of 2020 as a way to keep students busy and give them something to do or look forward to in the summer while also working towards a goal.
If you stop by The Popcorner at one of their two locations, 11330 E Central Ave or 2121 N Tyler Rd., they will have book club forms available. These can be picked up by families starting now. Students are encouraged to personally read 10 books and then bring in the completed book club form to redeem their free Hot & Fresh To-Go bag from warmers.
