THIS WEEKEND
Diaper Jam 2026

Quite possibly the most underrated community event in town takes place this weekend, April 25 and 26 at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill located at 3863 S. Seneca. It’s Diaper Jam.

Since 2015, Diaper Jam ICT has collected and donated over 126,000 diapers to the Wichita Childrens Home – and this year, the community can help make that number soar even higher. With the communities help, last year alone the event collected 27,175 diapers & they’re aiming for 30,000 this year!

FAMILY
RiverFlix

It’s back! RiverFlix!

Tonight’s movie is SING!

Join the community in the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater for free family fun under the stars, where we will be showcasing beloved film favorites. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy quality time with loved ones in a magical setting. Bring your blankets, snacks and a sense of adventure as we create unforgettable memories together.

To plan for as many guests as possible, Exploration Place is updating the seating plan to maximize the upper space of the amphitheater bowl.

  • The turf area will remain ground-level seating for blankets.

  • Rows of chairs will be provided on the paved area at the back of the amphitheater bowl. Please do not move or try to replace these chairs with your own.

  • Overflow seating will be available in several places, as indicated on the map, for personal lawn chairs.

  • Barricades will be at the end of the parking lot aisles, ensuring that cars are a safe distance from seating and guests.

  • As a reminder, strollers and wagons are not allowed in the seating areas. There will be an unattended stroller and wagon parking area available in the same place as last season.

CELEBRITY SIGHTING
Joey Chestnut dominates the competition

Did you miss out on Joey Chestnut’s appearance at the Wichita Wind Surge game?

Last week, Chestnut faced a handful of local representatives in a chili buns competition and had zero issue defeating everyone.

Competitors were given ten chili buns consisting of cinnamon rolls and chili. The first to finish all ten in the 10-minute time limit won.

And the obvious favorite took home the title. Watch below:

COMMUNITY
GirlDads and Braiding

Our first GirlDads, Dos and Brews took place earlier this week. The sold out event featured a couple dozen GirlDads learning to braid hair thanks to the team at Pigtails & Crewcuts.

The feedback has been incredible and it appears a second one will have to be scheduled. Stay tuned for the date.
