SAVE THE DATE
Celebrate Kayven

Do me a favor and save May 30 on your calendar. If you’re free, stop by Field Station: Dinosaur Park for Celebrate Kayven: Dio-Mite Adventures

This is the third year for the Celebrate Kayven Event.

It’s an event started as a way for family, friends and the community to remember Kayven, who passed away due to a seizure in his sleep, a condition called SUDEP or Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.

Celebrate Kayven is also a day to give back to the community that did so much during this terrible time for Kayven’s family.

This is an event centered around Kayven’s favorite things and places. He loved chocolate chip cookies, rock painting, yard games are just a few things they carry on every year that he loved. He also loved to read. In his memory they started to build little free libraries in the community. There’s also been a launch of Kayven’s Care Kits. These kits are made for kids with epilepsy going through EEG tests or hospital stays and include a book, activities, coloring book, a plush duck, and education materials to support families with the complex and difficult epilepsy diagnosis.

This year, Celebrate Kayven: Dino-Mite Adventures will be even bigger but still hold true to the original purpose.  It is a free family event for the public on May 30th from 6pm-8pm. Attendees can look forward to 14 child focused vendors that will host activities and crafts; a food truck; yard games, each child will get to pick out a book to keep and we will also host a raffle to help raise funds for our programs.
