When it comes to perseverance and resilience, the first restaurant that comes to mind is Kelly’s Family Diner.
The breakfast and lunch option in south Wichita has been through so much but instead of quitting, they face every challenge and continue to still give back to the community.
Here is Kelly’s story.

COMMUNITY
Wagyu Brisket Tamales for a Cause
Here we go, it’s time to drop the pre-order link for the wagyu brisket tamales I’m working on with Pinole Blue and Station 8 BBQ.
Tamales are $40 for a dozen and a very limited quantity will be available.
Remember, profits from the tamales will go to pay for kids school lunches at Colvin Elementary in south Wichita. Also Epic Electric, owned by local electrician Zachariah Durham, has donated $1,000 to the cause and will be matching the proceeds made from tamale sales.
Durham is also a former Colvin Cougar and wanted to give back to the cause. So huge thanks to Epic Electric.
Pickup for the tamales will be next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
What are you waiting for? Will you be one of the few in Wichita to get your hands on the wagyu brisket tamales?
If you missed out, a donation option is also available with 100% of donations going to Colvin Elementary.

LOCAL BUSINESS HIGHLIGHT
Mochinut
There are many places I try to stop by around Wichita for two reasons. Of course there’s the food that I enjoy.
But more importantly, because I believe the people behind it are genuinely good people who I want to see win and succeed.
That’s why @mochinut_westwichita is always on my radar. They work hard and do so much to give back to the future of our society such as holding events for high school and college age students who want to grow in their field whether it’s engineering, entrepreneurship, whatever it is.
I want to support businesses who authentically support our community.
Well that and my daughter is a huge fan of their churro flavor mochi donuts (and me too).
