UPCOMING EVENT
Kansas State Fair

One of my favorite events returns September 5-14. It’s the Kansas State Fair!

The state’s biggest week long celebration is back at the fairgrounds in Hutchinson. We’ll be there this weekend checking it out. If you want to head out to Hutch, we’ve put together a handy little guide to help you out.

LOCAL MOVIE PREMIERE
“Blair” Movie Premiere

Admittedly, I’m out of the loop when it comes to the local movie scene, but recently learned about a local Wichita filmmaker named Troy Andrews. He has shot two feature films that have garnered over 5 million views on YouTube along, not even including Tubi numbers.

Both of his films were all done here in Wichita.

On Friday, September 5, Andrews will be premiering his third feature film, Blair. It’s a horror film that was also filmed, produced, and everything right here in the city.

The premiere is taking place at the Regal Warren East Theater. Tickets are now available. Go support a local film maker!

UPCOMING EVENT
Monster Mash 3D

Step into 3 dimensions of Halloween celebration at Monster Mash 3D, coming to Odd Fellow Hall on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 7pm to Midnight. Live music from KC pop-rap artist TheBabeGabe (formerly of Blackstarkids), Wichita’s own Keo & Them (R&B/Soul) and FYI (Rap), plus Colorado acts Horse Bitch (Emo Rock) and Dream of Time (Indie).

Explore a curated art market featuring more than 15 local makers and creators. And don’t miss the monster drag show hosted by LeStar Yamaya with performances by Pseudocide, Brockwürst Sausage, Reign Regalia, and Minnie Van Driver.

The night will bring together music, art, and drag for a multi-dimensional Halloween showcase in Wichita. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and compete in the costume contest for a chance to win prizes.
