BREAKING NEWS
Hawaiian Bros coming to northwest Wichita

The first Hawaiian Bros opened in November 2024 at 1360 N. Greenwich Road. It was the first of what is expected to be multiple locations for the Wichita area.
Nearly a year after the grand opening, the owners have nailed down a second location that is set for northwest Wichita.
Hawaiian Bros is headed to 37th and Maize Road in the plot of land just east of the Kwik Shop and immediately north of Menards at the southeast corner of the intersection.
COMING SOON
Parlor Doughnuts Opening Soon

With the closing of Hurts Donuts, it didn’t take long for Parlor Doughnuts to announce plans of opening in Wichita.
After a much needed renovation of the space at 7010 W. 21st St., the new donut shop specializing in layered donuts is nearing opening day. I’m told that Parlor Doughnuts should be open within the next 30 days, which could put us towards the end of September or possibly early October should everything go well.

WEEKLY MINI FEATURE
Paleteria La Reyna

Who should we feature in next week’s mini-feature? Readers decide who we promote for free in the newsletter
This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Aaron Lopez.
Wichita’s north side has been home to some of the best Mexican food in town.
When driving up and down Broadway or Arkansas, you’ll run in numerous restaurants. So many of them are fantastic and worth going to. There’s one at 29th and Arkansas that has been open for over twenty years and remains one of the busiest. That is Paleteria La Reyna.
Paleteria La Reyna is known for their Mexican ice cream that’s made in house. The paletas and other desserts are a great way to end any meal, but for the purpose of this review, let’s focus on the food. The menu covers the gamut of the main Mexican staples.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. everyday except for Wednesday when the restaurant is closed. You can also follow Paleteria La Reyna on Facebook.
