CLOSED
Pig In Pig Out

This was a big loss for the local restaurant community. Pig In Pig Out announced last week that Saturday was their last day of business.
Owner Derek Cochran shared online that after 29 years, it’s time for his restaurant to close. Cochran went through some health scares in the past year which publicly shared with a GoFundMe created for his medical journey. Now it seems like this much needed time off will allow him to focus on improving his health and figuring out what’s next.
COMING SOON
Nelson’s Kitchen

6121 E. 21st St. N.
Big news for east Wichita. The restaurant voted the most liked wings in Wichita, Nelson’s Kitchen, is opening a second location at 6121 E 21st St N.
The popular restaurant selling burgers, wings, chicken & waffles, catfish and more is taking over the space previously held by such restaurants at Bionic Burger, Clouds, and even a Long John Silvers back in the day.
WEEKLY MINI FEATURE
Bao Xing (a.k.a Xing Xing)

6100 E. 21st St.
Who should we feature in next week’s mini-feature? Readers decide who we promote for free in the newsletter
This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Anna Longwell.
Did you know that Xing Xing is still open? Some people may remember the original location at 1920 E. Pawnee that closed in 2023.
They moved to a new location at 6100 E. 21st St. (21st and Woodlawn) in 2024 and are still open. This is still something many people don’t know.
Xing Xing offers Asian fusion dishes with an emphasis on Vietnamese cuisine. One of the most popular dishes (seen above) is their ramen dish that can be ordered at various spice levels. It’s one of my favorite meals in town.
It’s also a current ICT 100 Restaurant.
Hours are Tuesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and closed on Monday.
