DINNER SERIES
Local Flavor Restaurant on August 10

Here we go! Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series XVI which takes place Monday, August 10 at Local Flavor Restaurant at 6:30 p.m.

The night will be a fundraiser for Wichita Forever Festival with 100% of proceeds going to pay local artists.

This beautiful night starts with a buffet style dinner from Local Flavor featuring carne asada, chicken tinga, ceviche, prime skirt steak, and more.

Plus diners will be treated to a performance by Josué Estrada.

Tickets run $75 a piece which should raise a nice amount for Wichita Forever Festival.

Limited tickets are available so let’s come together on Monday, August 10 to support local music.

Q’s Your Daddy BBQ

A new restaurant has opened at 5125 N. Maize Road that was most popularly known for Nancy’s A-Maize-N Sandwiches. Its someone you may have heard of or even tried before. It’s Q’s Your Daddy BBQ & Catering who has been operating a food truck before going into the brick & mortar space.

From Thursday through Saturday, Q’s Your Daddy BBQ serves a full barbecue menu.

On Sundays, the full BBQ menu takes a day off and it’s a simple breakfast menu which I think is nice for the Maize area as it’s lacking options within the city limits.

FOOD TRUCKS
Siam Pinto: Taste of Thailand

There’s a new food truck that just opened serving what they call a taste of Thailand, it’s Siam Pinto.

The menu at Siam Pinto contains curry dishes, appetizers like summer and spring rolls and potstickers, milk tea, and many popular Thai dishes like basil fried rice, pad see ew, and more.

This is a very new food truck but seems to be making frequent stops all over town. I came across them at the Meineke on 21st Street.

The Coop Chicken Fingers

I have something I want to share, but please don’t roll your eyes. There’s a new chicken option in town that just opened at 1140 S. Rock Road in the former Schlotzky’s space. It’s The Coop Chicken Fingers.

This is the restaurant’s third location with one in Ames, Iowa and a second in Hutchinson, KS. A fourth location is coming to El Dorado.

ON THE MOVE
Puerto Vallarta

One of the popular Mexican restaurants, especially on the west side, is about to be on the move. Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant who opened in 2019 at 602 N. Tyler Road, where they still reside, is ready to change locations.

Fortunately, the new spot will be right down the street at 756 N. Tyler Road which most recently was Eclipse Bar & Grill but was also The Angry Elephant and Augustino Brewing before that. The new space which is much bigger will allow for additional seating for a restaurant that is starved for space. Anybody who frequents the place knows that many times there can be a wait.
