UPCOMING
A Taste of Somewhere

Somewhere Fest takes place this weekend on June 13 and 14th, but the festival isn’t just about the music.

There’s an entire set up at the Coleman Lot across the street from Wave called A Taste of Somewhere.

It’s 20 local vendors serving up everything from street-style tacos, artisan burgers, smoky BBQ, loaded sandwiches, vegan bowls, global rice plates, sno-cones, boba tea and more. The list of deliciousness was curated by Festive ICT.

You can stay cool under the shaded lounge areas with misted tents inside the chill zone or grab an ice cold seltzer/brew or mocktail between acts.

This 2-day fest takes place from 4pm - 10pm in the Coleman lot and is free admission and for all ages.

On top of the food trucks, there will be blind taste challenges, photo opp chllanges, and more.

If you’re looking to also catch the music, be sure to get your tickets soon.

NOW OPEN
RAHA Mediterranean

A new restaurant offering an upscale Mediterranean dining experience recently opened on Friday called RAHA Mediterranean.

Located at 4956 E. 35th St. N., this is right off K-96 and Oliver in the District 96 development. This restaurant is brought to you by one of the brothers who opened FioRito Ristorante. So one thing you can expect is a lot of locally sourced food that is prepared and made in house.

An interesting note about RAHA Mediterranean is it’s nestled inside the pickleball entertainment complex, TapNPaddles. While you can access the restaurant from inside TapNPaddles, there’s also a separate exterior entrance.

We stopped by early last week to get a sneak peek, check it out.

WEEKLY MINI FEATURE
Krispy’s Fried Chicken & Seafood

3009 S. HIllside

Who should we feature in next week’s mini-feature? Readers decide who we promote for free in the newsletter

This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Davior Pinney.

This is a multi-time recipient on the ICT100 list. Krispy’s Fried Chicken is my pick for best fried chicken in Wichita and some magazine called Taste of Home also listed it as the best fried chicken in the state of Kansas.

The name of the game is Fried Chicken and that’s easily the go-to option there. Each time I go, it’s chicken with a nice golden color, not overly greasy, crispy breading with moist, juicy, tender chicken awaiting your tastebuds.

I highly recommend this place to anybody.
