Just months away from Raising Cane’s

Wichita’s first Raising Cane’s is expected to arrive this summer. I’ll have more to share in the coming weeks but until then, they are now hiring.

Construction is underway at 350 S. Ridge Road right across the street from the Lowe’s.

It’s championship Monday in Wichita’s Most Liked Wings bracket. The finals have arrived, and it’s O’Brien’s vs. Nelson’s Kitchen. Two popular restaurants going head-to-head for the prestigious (and I use that term as lightly as possible) title of Wichita’s Most Liked Wing.

Voting starts Monday morning and will last for 24 hours.

This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Leslie Haberly.

Some people may not be aware of this, but Avivo Brick Oven Pizzeria is still open!

There was a plea for customers last year during a slow time as the previous owner hoped to interject new life into the pizzeria at 2441 N. Maize Road in NewMarket Square.

Within that time frame, a new buyer was found and Avivo is under new ownership and management.

Much of what people loved is still available. Shareables included bruschetta and cheesy garlic bread. The popular 10’’ pizza creations including the meatcraver, quattro formaggi, old world pepperoni and margherita are still on the menu as well. And if pizza isn’t your thing, salads, calzones and pastas are also available.

Hours are every day 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. except for Wednesday when they are closed.

Teriyaki Madness is coming to Wichita

We originally broke the news Tuesday that a Denver-based Asian fusion fast-casual chain called Teriyaki Madness is coming to Wichita.

The first location is set for 3801 N. Ridge Road at the Shops at Avante shopping center at 37th and Ridge Road.

The restaurant is known for fast casual Asian cuisine made on a wok. Everything is made to order.

The menu includes bowls which can be customized with chicken teriyaki, orange chicken, chicken katsu, and more. The bowls can be made with white rice, noodles, veggies, brown rice or fried rice. Yakisoba noodles and other appetizers like potstickers, eggrolls, and crab rangoon are also available.

Egg The Park

Billed as the largest free egg hunt in Wichita, Egg the Park takes place Saturday, April 12 from noon to 2 p.m. at Central Riverside Park.

There will be bounce houses, games, hot dogs, snow cones, giveaways, and of course, the egg hunts which are age-specific.

Going hunting for eggs doesn’t cost a thing!
