Best Fast Food Taco in Town?

Over the past week, I shared my top three fast food taco spots in town. You know, the classic corn taco stuffed with lower than usual grade ground beef that’s extra greasy but one of those guilty pleasures you crave.

There’s basically six options in town. Taco Tico, Taco Grande, Taco Rio, Taco Shop, Taco Grande and Taco Bell.

My rankings would go:

1.) Taco Tico
2.) Taco Shop
3.) Taco Pronto
4.) Taco Rio
5.) Taco Grande
6.) Taco Bell

Albero Bistro

Who should we feature in next week’s mini-feature? Readers decide who we promote for free in the newsletter

This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Brittany Roberts.

Who doesn’t love Italian food? The city has a handful of really good options and thanks to Brittany’s suggestion, I would definitely vouch for Albero Bistro located at 2684 N. Greenwich Road.

This originally was the sister restaurant to the now closed Albero Cafe which who knows if that will ever reopen.

The menu at Albero Bistro features classic Italian appetizers, flatbreads, paninis, pasta dishes, and an assortment of other entrées like chicken parm, mixed Italian grill, grilled salmon and more.

Midwest Winefest

Midwest Winefest is Wichita's premier wine and food festival, celebrating the best in fine wines, cuisine, and community spirit. Proceeds benefit the Guadalupe Health Foundation, with primary support going to the patients of Guadalupe Clinic, which provides compassionate health care to those without insurance in our community.

There are two different dates for Midwest Winefest

Old Town Walkabout
Thursday, May 1st, 2025 | 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Stroll through Wichita's vibrant Old Town district, stopping at local restaurants and venues to sample a variety of delectable foods, wines, and live music from talented local artists.

Reserve Room
Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Indulge in a selection of high-end wines and gourmet dishes at Distillery 244. The evening will feature our Live Auction, offering unique experiences and exclusive items for bidding.

Reimagined, rebranded, and just opened is Express Kitchen. Many people in Wichita are familiar with the Kitchen who opened at 725 E. Douglas nine years ago. Then a second location opened at 3622 N. Oliver.

Well, the flagship Douglas store is now Express Kitchen.
