RESTAURANT NEWS
Breakfast at Station 8 BBQ

Breakfast is now available at Station 8 BBQ… kind of.

The popular BBQ restaurant recently added a limited time biscuits & gravy special on the weekends. It’s typically available on either Friday or Saturday. Those interested, will have to check Station 8’s Facebook page each week to see when.

This is something the restaurant has been testing for their future diner that is expected to open possibly later this year.

The 32oz. bowl looks small at first glance but is very deceiving. This is a HUGE bowl of food. You biscuits and delicious gravy for $12, or you can top it with meat like I did (Protip: Burnt Ends) for $15.

WEEKLY MINI FEATURE
Sally Sue’s New York Deli

Who should we feature in next week’s mini-feature? Readers decide who we promote for free in the newsletter

This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Noel Smith.

With food truck season here, add in one of the newer trucks over the past year to the fleet, Sally Sue’s NY Deli.

This is one of the food trucks that has made it a point to be at many of the festivals and rallies over the past year. I’ve seen them at Blood Orchard and lately the Final Friday Food Truck Rally.

The menu of Sally Sue’s NY Deli features sandwiches with turkey, roast beef, pepperoni, salami, prosciutto, ham, pastrami, and all sorts of other meats. It’s a vast menu that also has coneys, chili dogs, pretzels, NY cheese steak subs, buffalo tenders, and the list keeps going.

It’s a big menu for a truck that is equally big. I’ve had them probably 4 times now and most recently, had their pastrami sandwich which I’d definitely recommend.

Check them out on Facebook.

NEWS
Pop-Ups at Apollo Fermentations

150 N. Cleveland

Food fans, please keep three dates in your mind. Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays at Apollo Fermentations. Why?

Those are the food pop-up days at the kombucha taproom.

On Thursday and Friday, Mamacita’s, a locally owned taquito pop-up can be found. Their menu features taquitos, tostadas, salads and different specials.

Then on Saturday, it’s Big B’s Beef. Many people may be familiar with this former food truck who now operates out of Apollo Fermentations on Saturdays. It’s the best place to go for Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago dogs and pizza puffs.

You can click on each link to read more about these pop-ups.
