Doors are now open to the public at 3851 N Ridge Road.
Open until 6 p.m. seven days a week, Mokas is the latest destination for sandwiches made to order (and don’t sleep on the reuben if you’re there over lunch), and an endless array of beverages including specialty drinks, coffee, espresso, smoothies, refreshers and energy drinks.
Congrats to Mokas on celebrating 20 years! Big thanks for inviting me out for the grand opening as this is so much closer to home now.
HAPPENINGS
Joey Chestnut dominates the chili buns eating competition
Over the weekend, Joey Chestnut arrived in Wichita to participate in a chili buns eating competition during a Wichita Wind Surge game.
The competition featured 7 other participants who all tried to defeat the most legendary eater in the world.
As you can guess, they all failed and Chestnut walked away victorious…. and full.
Here’s the full video.
DINING SCENE
New doubledecker mobile bar service
Something new has landed in Wichita. The Upper Deck is Wichita’s newest bar service offering an elevated level of service… and seating.
It’s a double decker bus with bar service on the ground level and seating up top to accommodate roughly 30 people. Or the upstairs can also hold a DJ.
The lower level of the bus fits a full bar that fits three bartenders working with windows and stairs to allow one bartender go move between levels to take care of guests upstairs.
NOW OPEN
Foxi Ice Cream
Just in time for summer is a brand new ice cream shop serving all hand-crafted deliciousness made on site. It’s Foxi Ice Cream, located at 436 S. Khedive St. right across the street from the Maize City Park.

Late last year, a Klimt sold for the highest price ever paid for modern art at auction.
An outlier sure, but it wasn't a fluke. U.S. auction sales grew 23.1% in 2025. The $1-5mm segment even grew 40.8% YoY.
Now, the S&P, teetering on all time highs, just posted its worst quarter since 2022, oil was up 94% (briefly), and Moody's puts recession odds at 48.6%.
Each environment is unique, but after dot-com, post war and contemporary art grew about 24% annually for a decade. After 2008, about 11% for 12 years.
It’s also had near-zero correlation with the S&P 500 since ‘95.*
