RESTAURANT NEWS
Kelsey Grammer returning to Wichita

Earlier this year, television star, Kelsey Grammer, arrived in Wichita to guest bartend at various local bars, restaurants and liquor stores to promote his Faith American Brewing Company beer which is now being distributed in Kansas.

Many fans raved about how personable he was, willing to chat anybody up.

Well Grammer is coming back to Wichita. You can find him this Thursday at Wichita Brewing Company at 901 W. Douglas where he will be guest bartending at 1 p.m.

Have you had Kelsey Grammer's beer yet?

WEEKLY MINI FEATURE
Barrel Boys BBQ

2202 W. 13th St. N.

Who should we feature in next week’s mini-feature? Readers decide who we promote for free in the newsletter

This week’s Mini-Feature was suggested by Alan Gaul.

It’s time to put Barrel Boys BBQ on your radar. Whether you’ve been there before or haven’t, you should check the BBQ restaurant at 2202 W. 13th St.

I get it, much of the focus on the Q in town is all located in Delano or around downtown. I’m just as guilty as the next person.

So thanks to Alan for bringing this to my attention.

The former food truck turned restaurant has also had a very successful career in the competitive BBQ circuit, bringing people to “Tender Town” as their motto goes.

You can’t go wrong with the ribs, brisket or anything for that matter.

I recently checked them out which you can read about here.

Hours are Thursday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Monday through Wednesday.

CLOSINGS
Mi No Bakery

2528 S. Oliver

One of my favorite little Vietnamese pastry shops in south Wichita will be closing at the end of the month.

Mi No Bakery, located at 2528 S. Oliver specializes in not just Vietnamese pastries, but other dishes like bahn mi and skillet dishes.

I used to frequent there occasionally with my mother, who loved having homemade quality dishes that represented her home country.

The owners of Mi No Bakery are awesome people and will definitely be missed in the local restaurant scene.

Their last day is tentatively April 30.

EVENT
Wichita Taco Fest

Wichita’s biggest taco party is back with a new location.

Wichita Taco Fest returns Saturday, June 28 where they will be at the Fountains at Waterfalk.

Patrons will get to enjoy $2 Tacos, chips & salsa, elote, pineapple sSmoothies, margaritas, micheladas and so much more.

Music will be provided by KC's DJ Astro & Marcobiotics.

There will also be a best taco and salsa competition, jalapeño eating competition, and lucha libre wrestling.

Early bird tickets are now available. Will I see you there?
