TODAY
Cash Mob #4

Today is the day! Cash Mob #4 where we will be headed to pack CJ’s Sports Bar and Grill on Monday, April 13 from 4-6pm.

This locally owned, woman-owned establishment opened at 6305 E. Harry St. in the former Annex Lounge space.

We are partnering with One Life Spirits, Una Vida Tequila, LDF Companies and maybe some other surprises to introduce people to something new, support local, and support someone who spent years in the industry before branching out on her own.

The point of the cashmob is simple. Flood a business with support and show some Wichita love.

I’ll be buying the first 100 wings that everyone is welcome to. The first 50 drinks will be covered. After all, it’s best to lead by example when asking people to support a cashmob.

See ya later today!

COMMUNITY
Dan Norton wins first charity hot dog eating competition

The first-ever Wichita By E.B. Charity Hot Dog Eating Competition took place Sunday afternoon at Nortons Brewing Company.

Five community partners stepped up to the plate all representing a charity in hopes to win a chunk of cash for a charity of their choice.

The rules were simple. Eat as many hot dogs as possible to win money for their charity and the winner also moves on to represent our city to face off against Joey Chestnut in a chili buns eating competition this Friday, April 17 at the Wichita Wind Surge game.

In the end it was Dan Norton of Nortons Brewing Company who won it all after eating seven hot dogs in three minutes. His win locked in a cash donation for the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center.

DINING SCENE
What big name restaurant is next?

Wichita has some big names coming to the city. Some of those include Dave’s Hot Chicken, Cheesecake Factory and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

Then there are some confirmed to come with no set location like Whataburger.

That makes you wonder, what big name restaurant that Wichita doesn’t have will be next?

Who do you want to see next?

Halagains

Those in Garden Plain are probably familiar with the restaurant but with a second location in Wichita, KS, others might need an introduction to Halagains.

The bar & grill who originally opened in 2023 in Garden Plain has expanded to the ICT after taking over the former Champs Bar & Grill space at 1106 S. Seneca.
