RECAP
Live Tuna Cutting Show at Gyoza Bar
On Sunday afternoon, Gyoza Bar owner Jack Fukuda hosted a live tuna cutting show featuring a 125 pound bluefin tuna. It was truly a sight to see only to be surpassed by the food.
The Cozy Winter Ritual Behind My Energy and Glow ✨
Winter calls for rituals that actually make you feel amazing—and Pique’s Sun Goddess Matcha is mine. It delivers clean, focused energy with zero jitters, supports glowing skin and gentle detox, and feels deeply grounding on cold mornings. Smooth, ceremonial-grade, and crave-worthy, it’s the easiest way to start winter days clear, energized, and glowing from the inside out
NEW OWNERSHIP
Nick Ford takes over Douglas Social
After nearly five years, Douglas Social is now under new ownership.
The bar at 2518 E. Douglas originally opened towards the end of 2021 by Travis Hatfield, who some will know as the owner of Uncle Sam’s in Haysville and the original owner of Peerless.
Over the years, it became a weekend destination for many. A bar that hosted many parties. A place to catch many DJs, jazz music, Brazilian nights, Latin nights and more.
And now, Nick Ford has taken over the helm after Hatfield decided it was time to sell.
Ford, a Wichita native, started his career in the Marine Corps and finished his military time in the Army doing deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. After his time there, he eventually found himself in the auto industry where he is to this day.
LOCAL SPOTLIGHT
Prost

It was in 2025 when Wichita’s only German restaurant, Prost, made the move to downtown Wichita at 134 N. St. Francis.
When I dropped by, there was an Oktoberfest celebration going on with a limited menu. This prevented me from getting a more diverse selection the restaurant offered. So, I had to make a return.
This is one restaurant you NEED to add to your list if you’ve never been. Here’s the full story below.
