COMING
Pizza Shuttle arrives next week
Late-night affordable pizzas should be something every college student experiences during their time in school. And soon that will be part of the Wichita State way of life with the arrival of Pizza Shuttle.
The popular collegiate pizza joint is scheduled to open Monday, February 2.
THIS AFTERNOON!!!
Wichita By E.B. Cash Mob at The James & Rye
The day you’ve been waiting for has arrived! My first cash mob / happy hour event takes place today at The James & Rye in downtown Wichita at 917 E. Douglas.
Festivities kick off at 4pm and runs until 6:30pm.
These cash mobs are set up to help local businesses, introduce people to some place new, bring the community together, and support local. I’m buying the first 50 drinks, my friends at Minisa Construction Services are buying The Popcorner for people in attendance.
All I ask is you show love, tip the wait staff and buy a drink if you’re having a good time. Complete Wedding + Events will also be on hand with a photo booth.
And the menu was created by One Life Spirits. Let’s have a time!
COMING SOON
The Cheesecake Factory confirmed for Wichita
It’s finally confirmed. Bradley Fair has confirmed the news that The Cheesecake Factory is indeed coming to take over the space that use to be Outback Steakhouse.
That building has been torn down for a while and will make room for Wichita’s most requested restaurant.
LOCAL SPOTLIGHT
Todds Creole Kitchen
It gives me the E.B. Jeebies when I see comments today like, “I can’t believe restaurants are closed or closing early. It’s not that much snow.”
Well think beyond the snow. It’s cold, people don’t want to drive or leave the house. For some, it could be staffing issues or keeping into account the safety of staff who may have long distances to drive. Business will be slow, less diners and in some cases it costs more to be open than closed.
Over the weekend, I stopped by Todds Creole Kitchen at 8641 W. 13th St. and there might have been a few tables but it was certainly dead.
While I was there, I picked up some delicious crawfish étouffée. So good and worth the drive.
Over the next week, perhaps go support a local restaurant or two to help make up for what is typically one of the slowest times of the year for the industry.

GUIDE
How to Eat Around the World in Wichita
Wichita is deeply rooted with many unique cultures. Through the years, the city has been a cultural hub that fused traditions and flavors. The diversity has made international dining a popular part of our local food scene. Let’s cover how to eat around the world in Wichita.
Nearly 400 restaurants, food trucks and other food vendors in the area account for the eclectic international offerings we are fortunate to have. The beauty of it is, they all have their own style, recipes, fusions and takes on dishes that create opportunities for us to try something we may have never had before. Whether you consider them “authentic” or close enough to what you’d find in a native country, that’s for you to decide. What I do know is our food scene is incredibly diverse, reflecting a modern-day population of people who want to share their culture and love of food.
Here’s where to go to try international cuisine via a food truck, nice sit down restaurant, a quick-service style set up and more all in Wichita.
