New owners coming for R Coffee House

A big change is coming to R Coffee House, but the current owners want everyone to know that things will only get better.

It's been 13 years this month since brothers Angelo and Gerard Rodriguez took over a little coffee shop originally called the Perk in Riverside at 1144 Bitting St.

Now, it's time for them to pass the torch and start the next chapter of their lives. Angelo and Gerard Rodriguez are selling the coffee shop to a local couple in town who have big plans for the R that include building on the menu and obtaining a permit to serve alcohol. There will be more to come on the new owners at a later date.

One of the most popular events this time of year is The Wichita Open at Crestview Country Club.
