BREAKING
Stoner’s Pizza headed to Wichita

Earlier this week, some random no-name website called Wichita By E.B. broke the news of a Florida-based pizza chain called Stoner’s Pizza Joint coming to Wichita.

Stoner’s Pizza Joint will be located at 645 E. Douglas Ave which will be in the same complex that holds Homegrown right next to Naftzger Park.

Someone just spent $236,000,000 on a painting. Here’s why it matters for your wallet.

Late last year, a Klimt sold for the highest price ever paid for modern art at auction.

An outlier sure, but it wasn't a fluke. U.S. auction sales grew 23.1% in 2025. The $1-5mm segment even grew 40.8% YoY.

Now, the S&P, teetering on all time highs, just posted its worst quarter since 2022, oil was up 94% (briefly), and Moody's puts recession odds at 48.6%.

Each environment is unique, but after dot-com, post war and contemporary art grew about 24% annually for a decade. After 2008, about 11% for 12 years.

It’s also had near-zero correlation with the S&P 500 since ‘95.*

Now, Masterworks lets you invest in shares of artworks featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.

  • $1.3 billion invested across over 500 artworks.

  • 28 sales to date.

  • Net annualized returns on sold works held 12 months+ like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.

Shares can sell quickly, but my subscribers can skip the waitlist:

VOTE
Dan Norton or Joey Chestnut?

Earlier this week, the owner of Norton’s Brewing Company, Dan Norton, won a hot dog eating competition. As part of the prize, he will now go on to face legendary competitive eater, Joey Chestnut, tonight…. Friday evening at the Wind Surge game.

The competition will be a chili buns eating contest that will take place on the field after the game.

COMMUNITY
Classroom Giveaway Winner to Exploration Place

Congrats to Kelly Bonnell.

Kelly is a first grade teacher at Linwood Elementary School. And was one of the most nominated teachers in my latest field trip giveaway.

The first grade class at Linwood and Kelly will now be taken on a free all-expenses paid trip to Exploration Place right before the school year ends.

Kelly told me that many of the students haven’t been to Exploration Place. So let’s create some memories for the kids, show them something new in their eyes with the best science museum in the state and let them know people in the community are cheering them on.

At the same time show some gratitude and thanks to teachers like Kelly who are helping mold the future of our society.

GIFTED
Local Flavor Restaurant

For some restaurateurs, it’s been a long journey that has included many closed chapters. But the past has led to new beginnings that became gifts for Wichita.

Jeremy Snyder, owner of Local Flavor, has had quite the career in the local dining scene. He’s been through it all and continues to keep going because of his love of the community and the industry. When he’s not at the restaurant, you will likely see him doing something to benefit others or supporting many causes around town.

Here’s his story:
