THIS WEEKEND
Charities to see Chestnut
A couple months ago, I purchased one of the two spots to face off against legendary eater, Joey Chestnut in a chili buns eating competition.
Well, I have zero interest in facing the future hall of famer, and needed to find someone to replace me. I also wanted to have some fund with it.
So I enlisted five people in the community to face off in a preliminary hot dog eating competition. Each person would also represent a charity with the winner having a $500 donation made in their name to that charity.
Here’s the field:
Not only will the winner get $500 for their charity, but they will represent me to face off against Joey Chestnut next week at the Wichita Wind Surge game.
The prelims take place this Sunday at Nortons Brewing Company at Noon!

COMMUNITY
Give Back Night for Wichita Adaptive Sports
It was a pleasure to host the Wichita Adaptive Sports group for an evening out at TapNPaddles.
Worked with Manage to Create, Jacob Clark and Tap N Paddles to once again show some love to Wichita Adaptive Sports and get them some time on the court and also check out the new food menu.
Wichita Adaptive Sports club is a local organization that specializes in adaptive sports for adults and youth with physical disabilities.
You have to love their mission where it is to create a thriving community, we must PROVIDE resources, PROMOTE collaboration, ENCOURAGE participation, ENGAGE members, and EMPOWER individuals to share their unique abilities.
Thanks to TapNPaddles for hosting us. Jacob and I have more community love on the way including a new round of Gifted videos highlighting local restaurants.
Pictured above is Salvador, who told me he will one day be in the Olympics. So remember that face!
RETURNING
RiverFlix at Exploration Place
RiverFlix is back for 2026. Located outside of Exploration Place at the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater, families can catch a movie underneath the stars. It’s free to attend for everyone!
It takes place every Friday for 27 weeks this year except for September 25 for the Drone Light Festival. If you missed the previous sentence, that is 27 weeks of free entertainment for people of all ages.
The fun begins Friday, April 24. The movies will start at sunset. People can start arriving at 6 p.m. for grab seating or check out a food truck.
BREAKING NEWS
Ruth’s Chris coming to Wichita
The Fox & Hound was around for quite a while, then closed and made room for The Old Spaghetti Factory who then closed. Rumors have been swirling since then about what could take over the space at 1421 N. Waterfront.
One big restaurant name tossed around was Ruth’s Chris Steak House who I’ve heard has been eyeing the Waterfront area for years. Different areas of Waterfront were considered but it appears the steakhouse has landed on the former Fox & Hound/Old Spaghetti Factory space.
Public permits were recently placed for a fire alarm system and commercial plan review with a project name of Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
