What Up Wichita?
We received your feedback and moved the publication date from Friday to Thursday to get you the news and info you need a day earlier before the weekend starts!

In today’s email:

  • Monopoly: Wichita is finally getting a Hasbro licensed city themed board. And you can help decide the landmarks

  • A not so pleasurable experience: One local business has been stripping away hard-earned money from employees

  • In the community: Local musicians to appear on NBC’s The Voice

FEATURE STORY
Monopoly: Wichita Edition Game

Have you heard? The official licensed Wichita Edition of the Monopoly game is coming courtesy of Hasbro Games.

The news drops Wednesday. And can you believe they’ve asked me to help? As an avid board gamer, I’m excited to play a small role in this launch.

How can you help? We are needing your suggestions on what iconic landmarks, businesses, and features should be placed on the official board.

Here’s what I know. The four corners cannot be changed, so Free Parking cannot be changed to $1 Downtown Parking. And In Jail’s face cannot be replaced by any prolific incarcerated Wichitans. Also, the game tokens will not be customized.

Let’s hear your suggestions. Wichita State University? Keeper of the Plains? Century II? Doo-Dah Diner? Sedgwick County Zoo? A Car Wash?

Offer your suggestions via the link below, and I’ll be passing everything on to the team.

EDDYTORIAL EXCLUSIVE
Ask Eddy Anything

Why are you so negative about Felipe's and Connie's?

Eddy: Am I? I eat at Felipe’s probably a couple of times a year. Connie’s… nice people but the food just isn’t for me.

Besides the negativity from so-called followers, what is the hardest challenge with being a blogger/influencer?

Eddy: Finding the time to juggle everything. Between everyday life, family, that’s a lot. Then you toss in a blog, the social media channels, a talk show, the calendars I manage, this newsletter, and responding to emails, etc. It takes its toll. And I do this without drinking caffeine.

Will you do a review of Spears Restaurant and Pie Shop?

Eddy: Since I’ve been asked, I’ll add it to the list, perhaps as an Eddytorial newsletter exclusive review.

Not So Pleasurable

The U.S. Department of Labor has sued Wichita's own Pleasures adult gentlemen's club and its operator, Mother's Finest LTD.

In the suit, it's alleged that Pleasures stripped away wages and damages for 80 female entertainers. The release said they failed to pay full wages, illegally deducted fees from their tips and required the entertainers to reimburse the employer if litigation or an investigation ever recovered lost wages for the dances.

If all this is true, that isn't a gentlemanly or Motherly finest thing to do to the entertainers.

Now for your entertainment, a Pleasures-inspired Community Chest card for the Monopoly Wichita Edition.
